
Road roller
A heavy-duty 13-ton twin-drum vibratory road roller designed for compacting asphalt concrete pavements and various bases during road construction. The roller features an articulated frame, two steel drums, an operator's cab, a diesel engine, and a hydrostatic transmission. The front and rear drums simultaneously function as the working elements and the undercarriage, transferring the load directly to the material being compacted. The drums have a working width of 2.1 m, and the machine's operating weight is 13 tons. The power plant is equipped with a 130 kW diesel engine, which powers the hydraulic system and drive mechanisms. The rotation speed and direction of each drive shaft are controlled by a hydrostatic drive, allowing for smooth adjustment of the roller's speed without the need for a traditional mechanical gearbox. The primary working process is achieved through a combination of static load and vibration: an eccentric vibratory mechanism is installed inside each drum, the rotation of which creates directional vibrations. Vibratory energy is transferred through the metal surface of the drum into the asphalt or soil, temporarily reducing internal friction between the material particles and promoting their denser packing. For asphalt concrete applications, the drums are equipped with a water spray system to prevent hot material from sticking to the metal surface. The frame's articulated joint allows the roller to roll over uneven surfaces and allows for precise direction changes.
